amandapriss 1 Posted May 19, 2011 My surgery is scheduled for 5/27 and knowing my luck I am sick! I have a horrible cold. Congestion, coughing, sore thoat. I went to the dr. yesterday and they put me on antibotics. My surgery is a week and 1 day away!!! I am sure I am praying that I will be well before then. How long does your Dr. require you to be better before surgery?
Fessie 7 Posted May 19, 2011 I had the same problem as you did. My surgery was on 4/22 and on 4/17 I got up with a terrible sore throat and sinus infection. Went to the doctor on Monday to get meds to try and clear it up. The nurse at my surgeon's office told me that as long as my lungs were clear on surgery morning it would be no problem. The meds did their job in 4 days and I was banded at 8:30 that Friday morning and on my way home at 11:30 the same morning. Good luck and be sure and drink lots of fluids to stay hydrated. Let us know how things go for you!!
