Today I went for my fitting for my bridesmaid's dress for my brother's upcoming wedding. Having ordered the dress back in September I was very worried that it wasn't going to fit and might have to be let out because I had gained a lot of weight after I ordered it. Not to mention that bridal sizes are all cockeyed and screwy so I had no idea what size it was in normal clothes anyway.

It didn't fit, all right...it had to be taken in almost 2 sizes! It was so big I actually had so hold it so it wouldn't fall down while the seamstress pinned the straps on. I was actually in such shock I couldn't speak. I love my lap band!

Congratulations, Jenn! NSV's like that are awesome! I was banded five months ago, and have already cleared out my closet twice. I figure I'm never going to be this size again, so if it's too big, out it goes! The best part is having to replace the replacement clothes I bought after the first go-round. When my old clothes started falling off, I replaced things with new stuff that fit right at the time. And now THAT stuff is too big, so is being replaced again. It's a great feeling.

People complain about the cost of clothes, but I figure I'm saving SO much by not eating like I used to, I can use that food money toward new clothes. It's a small price to pay, and I look good while I'm losing weight. One dinner out in the old days is equal to a new pair of pants or a dress shirt now. No more Omar the Tent Maker clothes for me. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
