I did'nt necesarily gain when I went to mushies but I've been a slow looser. During the hearing phase I tried to space out my food consumption like Tomato Soup and then an hour later shredded chicken made with low fat laughing cow (during mushies). Other than that I bought a digital scale and weighed my Protein. When the food was gone I stopped eating. My doctor does'nt approve of snacking so his opinion was that you should grit it out. Took me 5 plus months to get restriction.

Ash not to be nosey but is it that time of the month. I know for me I use to gain about 8 lbs with the Water retention from it. Watch your sugar intake really closely and avoid any carbs that you can. Protein first everything else second. You should also be getting ready for your first fill to that should help too.

I gained 4 lbs the first four weeks after surgery - that's normal, you are supposed to just heal for a while. It will come back off - mine did, and I'm losing about 1 lb every 3 - 4 days now. Don't worry, you will start losing again after your first fill. I also try to stay away from carbs, bread, sweets and I don't drink my calories - everything I drink is sugar free and non-carbonated.

Are you exercising? I'm still only working out on the treadmill about 15 minutes 3x a week, I know I need to ramp that up. But I'm satisfied losing around 10 lbs a month. I didn't put the weight on fast, so I don't expect to lose fast, I want to enjoy the journey and give my body time to shrink around the weight loss.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
