Dianechef 3 Posted January 19, 2006 I am a little concerned what I will look like AFTER I lose all my weight. I know I'll have more energy & feel great & I CAN'T WAIT!! However, I have seen a few people lately who have lost quite a bit of weight & their face looks older. I have a friend who's skin on her face is now wrinkly. (My husband said he thought she looked better before!!) Anybody else concerned? Any one have a secret to keeping our youthful appearance after weight loss? NJChick 3 Posted January 19, 2006 Yes, that does worry me, but then I think how good I will feel when I'm at goal or near to it. I'll feel so good that I'll be smiling like crazy and no one will notice my wrinkles  I'm sure there are facial exercises we could do. One that I learned is kissing the ceiling... it stretches the neck and face (helping w/that double chin). Just look strait, bring your face up to the ceiling and pucker...keep repeating. shalopash 0 Posted January 19, 2006 How about exercise and plastic surgery!?!?!?!?!?!:biggrin1:
Kristen 0 Posted January 19, 2006 Hi Diane, I have had the same concerns!!! I have seen a lot of pics where people dont look as good in the face as they did before. I have heard that a lot of people choose plastic surgery for there breasts, face and a body lift!! If that is somthing you might be thinking about if i were you i would start doing my reasearch now for a plastic surgeon. I know ive already started myself and asked others who they recomend! Hope this has helped!
Kryssa 1 Posted January 19, 2006 Make sure you wait a bit before going under the knife. My sister lost quite a bit of weight last year and when she came home last Christmas she looked sick...but now, a year later, the remaining fat in her body has redistributed itself and she looks great! FuelMan 2 Posted January 19, 2006 I am not near any kind of goal weight, but after losing 200 lbs. there is quite a bit of excess skin. I mean..... quite a bit. But the skin you can see, ain't too bad, although there is more wrinkles. When I first found this out was when I was riding my bike (motorcycle, LOL) and when I got over 70 mph, my face started do'in this crazy thing, waves started at my neck and waved right up my cheek. It felt weird, so I looked in the mirror and I had to slow down because I was laughing so much. It was the weirdest thing I ever saw, or felt. Now I have to be careful if there is any girls around and not go too fast or keep my head down when riding. You Know, How Can You Look Kool When You Got Waves Ride'in up your Face. HeatherGurl 0 Posted January 19, 2006 Hey Diane, I have seen your pictures and I really don't think that even when you get to your goal weight you will have that problem. There is a lady at work here that had the Gastric Bypass and everyone says that she looks older and wrinkly, but maybe in a year it will even out. Maybe since we are losing it slower it will not get too bad!
the best me 6 Posted January 19, 2006 You Know, How Can You Look Kool When You Got Waves Ride'in up your Face. Butch That's funny. Thanks for the grin :funnypost:
ajack 0 Posted January 19, 2006 Also- pressing your tongue to the roof of your mouth tightens your neck(chins) Do 3-5 sets of 10 a couple of times a day. I am worried about ineer thighs and stomach
Jachut 487 Posted January 19, 2006 We all get old unfortunately, if your face is not quite as padded out afterwards as it was, your new body will be a consolation. You'll look younger overall if you're not obese. YOu'll certainly feel it. I think society's obsession with youth is a bit sad really. There's loads of beautiful older women around, I think my mum's beautiful. She's 66 and yep, she probably looks 66 but she's so vital and healthy and active and there's so much more to her than what her face looks like. I have absolutely no fear of turning 66! I also dont care much about a bit of wrinkly skin on my tummy or if I dont have the most perfect breasts in the world either after my weight loss. Nobody has everything! Everybody has their good and bad points.
vinesqueen 2 Posted January 19, 2006 All the before-and-afters of the bandsters here look so much younger after they have lost a lot of weight. I don't know if I will ever lose weight, but I do know that once I turned 40 I realized that I didn't have to take crap offa anybody any more.
DevilMayKare 1 Posted January 20, 2006 I've heard some pretty impressive things about "thermage"--where they radio-wave your face and the skin tightens up. Just do a google search on it. Looks promising and I will be checking into it more in the future.
MeganA 35 Posted January 20, 2006 I have had the opposite problem. People have always thought I was younger than I am, but now I get carded everytime I order a drink and I've had people tell me they thought I was 23 or 24. Yeah right...I'm cruisin' in on 33. Dianechef 3 Posted January 20, 2006 Megan, I would LOVE to look 22 at 33. I have 8 sisters. (Yes, 8 sisters!!!!! That was not a type-o!) I am #6, but when we're together, people think I am one of the oldest ones!!!! I'm only 35 & would love to look 35 when all this weight is gone. Ajack, I've been doing those tongue presses & they really work!!
