aligirrl77 0 Posted January 19, 2006 im having a hard time not wanting to eat at night... what do people do to distract themselves from wanting to eat...besides the internet!
Kim_8 2 Posted January 19, 2006 1. stand on the scale :-) 2. watch tv (Lost, House - good shows during the week) 3. read a book - preferably not a cookbook 4. talk on the phone - preferably not to pizza Hut :-) 5. start repainting a room in your house.... then another, then another :-) (I'm big on this one) 6. take a walk - this one really does work if you can make yourself go for the walk. Sorry - I'm being somewhat silly - I quit smoking and eating and am trying to find anything to do besides smoke right now. These have good for me so far. Good Luck! nickie456 0 Posted January 19, 2006 I don't know what to tell you. Because I have the exact problem. I have no dout that I would already be at my goal weight if it wasn't for eating at night. During the day I have no problem eating the right things and small amounts. For the last two months I have exercised everyday. When 9:00pm. comes along its like my stomach just starts having a fit. I tell myself everyday that I am going to stop eating at night, but it never works. If you find the anwsere please let me know.
gentlespirit 1 Posted January 19, 2006 I have the same problem, and the only thing that works for me is to keep busy with one of my projects...I sew and quilt. If I watch TV, it's automatic to want snacky stuff. I also keep a big glass of Water near and keep swigging on that. If I really want something, I try to stick with sugarfree popsicles. Most of the time, these suggestions work...unfortunately not always! Emily
mousecrazy 2 Posted January 19, 2006 I want the answer to this, too. Since there are some night eaters on this thread, let me run this by you. Do you think that you are restricting your calorie intake too much during the day, and the body needs more calories and that sets up a cycle? Or is it just plain old head hunger? Thanks, Cindy

oreo 1 Posted January 20, 2006 Hi, I have always had a hard time sleeping which is how I gained my weight from the beginning. Right before bed I too want to eat very badly. If I don't eat, I can't sleep. Even though it's all in my head, it's still a problem. My solution is that I eat a small bowl (1/2 cup) of Kashi Go Lean with skim milk before I go to sleep and I sleep like a baby. When I wake up during the night I drink Water and go right back to sleep. It may not be the best solution, but it works for me. The other thing I do is I watch Discovery Health and Fitness TV to try and brainwash myself. It's harder to snack when you watch healthy programs. Good Luck, Paula
