slimj 0 Posted May 14, 2011 Ugh! I had my H hernia fixed and the ban placed on. It is not filled yet, but i know I have gas and can't seem to get it out. This is more painfull than the hernia repair and the band. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of this gas?
thebug 0 Posted May 14, 2011 When did you have your band put on? The gas is bad, but it seems to get better day by day. For me, for the first few days it seems to be easier just to stand, not to sit or lie down. Since we're supposed to be walking anyway, that's probably not a bad thing. When I do sit, for instance like right now when I'm on the computer, it seems most comfortable to sit with my knees wide so I can sort of lean forward without putting any pressure on my poor belly. Some people say use a heating pad. Hope this helps. Hope you start feeling better real soon. Ugh! I had my H hernia fixed and the ban placed on. sbilock 0 Posted May 14, 2011 I borrowed a heating pad from my grandmother on the advice of a relative and kept it on my belly on high. I would get up every hour or so and do a very small about of walking and moving around like I would go downstairs and outside and around the apartment and then back upstairs to bed. haha...anyways....I didn't think it was helping until at the end of the first full day that I used the heating pad it was like my body deflated. Tmi....I know but i was burping and tooting and felt better and better as each one passed. So my advice to you is a heating pad.
