So I have decided I am going to start throwing in a shake here and there to get used to the idea of using it as a meal replacement. Has anyone ever tried Unjury? I have seen only good reviews and was wondering if anyone else has tried this brand and what were their results? rolleyes.gif

I have not tried the Unjury yet, but I am using the whey supreme. I have the vanilla. I actually add a bannana to my shakes to help give them flavor. If you are buying shakes in a store be careful to compare the calories, sugars, etc. There were several whey supremes to choose from, but the others had double the calories, sugar, etc than the one I got. I've also had the strawberry it was good, but a little bland, so I cut up a couple of strawberries in it! I'm not sure what will be allowed on your pre-op diet. I am allowed unlimited fruit and veggies. There are several other things I can have like healthy request Soup, sugar free popsicles, fat free yogurt, and fat free cottage cheese. As long as I don't add any sugar, oil, butter, or salt. Good luck!

Go on ebay and type in MUSCLE MILK. MUSCLE MILK LIGHT will also come up. That's what you want The Lady that I deal with usually has strawberry Milkshake on for $5.99 a jug ( that's cheap, and,,, it's good stuff) Just look for the price, and you will find her, also, sometimes she has other flavors like chocolate Peanut Butter blend. She also combines shipping, so you can't go wrong.

While your on the site,, look around, and see the different flavors, and prices. Sometimes you get lucky and someone is selling something at a reasonable price. My advice is if you see it buy it because you may not get that chance again. (DON"T BUY THERE chocolate, IT'S LOUSEY).

There chocolate milk is excellent.

Have fun shopping, Shirley.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
