Extreme Nausea day after surgery, help!

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on Wed, and I was fine up until Thurs afternoon when I started really feeling alot of nausea. I haven't taken any pain meds since yesterday afternoon. I am only allowed to drink Clear Liquids right now, has anybody had this? Please any ideas, thanks

Pretty common after surgery. Call your surgeon and ask for medication; mine prescribed me some before I was released though I never used it.

i had that too, my doctor gave me some nasea med. mine is mostly gas i guess because i actually kinda dry heaved a few times and a lot of gas escaped. you should just call them and see if they can give you something. the nausea meds made a HUGE difference for me. i almost feel like my old self again.

I had surgery on a Tuesday, but got nauseous late Friday night after having some French onion Soup broth. I got up 3 times that night with the dry heaves. I called the doctor Saturday morning, and he prescribed some suppositories. I had to take 1 every 4 hours. I was feeling better by the middle of Sunday. A weekend I would love to forget. Having to give yourself a suppository is not a lot of fun.
