ocandjam 0 Posted May 12, 2011 Hi All, I am 12 days post-op, and other than some gas (still), and slight pains in the abdomen (mostly from a hiatal hernia repair), I am doing fairly well. However, to add insult to injury, I have caught a terrible cold--aches, sniffles, sore throat--the works (no fever, though). I know that my immunity is low, but, REALLY? I am trying to hydrate, using slow sips, so it is tough, and taking my vitamins... Will my body ever get used this foreign object called the Lap Band? Will this stupid cold go away (of course it will...I am just ranting)? Did any of you come down with colds/flus, etc right after surgery due to low immunity? If so, what, if anything helped? I just need a bit of comfort. Shooting lots of love to you all--THANKS!
Elie936 1 Posted May 12, 2011 Hey. I had the same, plus a gastro:) i was sooo weak. I blame the liquid diet. I used saline Water, they sell it at the pharmacy in a special bottle, it was great, i used it 4 5 times a day and it would clear up allll the mucus and it helps to remove the virus faster. Dont worry, 3 weeks post up, i am fine now:) just sleep and drink! And take extra Vitamins
ocandjam 0 Posted May 16, 2011 Thanks so much. I totally forgot about the saline spray, too. I need to get some. I have doubled up on the Vitamins, though. Still trying to hydrate too. Thanks, again. I guess I was just ranting....
