So I have had diarrhea ALL DAY, every HOUR and some nausea.

I was banded April 19 and have tolerated all post-op foods well. In the past two days, I have eaten: yogurt, skim milk, cottage cheese, apple sauce, some sliced turkey, tilapia, some potatoes, and some Cereal.

These are the same foods I have been eating for the past few weeks with no problems.

I thought maybe I just have some sort of bug, but am slightly worried. Anyone else have this issue? Are we allowed to have Pepto?

Well, I don't want to contradict your doctor's instructions, but I had the runs until I started phasing in solid food. It was only then that I got some relief, and even now I'll still get it if I eat a bunch of soft foods and drink Protein shakes.

Are you dehydrated possibly? It may just be your body's reaction to the food you're eating. Be sure you're getting your Water in. If it doesn't stop I'd call your doctor just to be sure.

I asked my doctor during my one week post op appointment because I was experiencing the same. He suggested I get some imodium if it didn't clear up in a couple days.

I am in my 3rd week of liquids and its been diarrhea allll along! I think its the shakes, the milk, a mix of everything. I do take immodium from time to time because it gets very disrupting. I am really not worried, I have aunts who are nurses and they had told me before the surgery that it would most probably happen:)

I got nauseous 3 days after being banded and not reacting well to a broth I had. Probably too much fat in it I guess. I couldn't sleep that night and called the doc in the morning. He prescribed some suppositories for the nausea. I was fine later the next day, but then came the diarrhea. I figured I was low on potassium and electrolytes. I started drinking more low-cal Gatorade (G2). That seemed to do the trick for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
