My band is making me CRAZY! Advice?

Recommended Posts

About a month ago I got a fill that brought me too 6.7 cc's.

For 3-4 days afterwards I was fine. I felt no difference at all. Then I had 11 days where I was so super tight so I went back to my doctor. He said I had reached my max fill level and wouldn't need anymore for a while. He told me to eat slower and chew more. Okay then BAM for the past 10 days I've been able to eat ANYTHING! I'm hungry all the time and I can even eat bread again. I haven't been able to eat bread since November.

I would like another fill but then again if I wait and do nothing then it may tighten up again on its own right?

What should I do?

Maybe have a fill under fluro? I dunno. Your band seems overly-finicky, IMO. Maybe go in for an endoscopy to ensure it's still in it's proper place, your pouch isn't dilated, etc.

Fluoroscope is the only way to go for a fill.

They will see your entire band, and port. They will know by looking at the band where your fill level is.

From that point they will know how much to add.

Good Health to you, Shirley.

I'm almost positive my doc doesn't do fills under fluro.

Should I just make an appointment and seewhat he says?

Ask him if they do it in the Hospital?

If yes, he should be able to set you up with a Professional that does these allot.

Good Luck, Shirley.

If you've lost a significant amount of weight since your last fill, you may have lost some of the fat pad around your stomach and therefore your band is looser.

I've never had a fill under fluoroscopy in my 2+ years of banding. I know some swear by them, but I just get very small fills and they work well for me. You might just need a tiny .5 or .2cc top off to make the band dim your appetite again. JMO.

6 pounds is enough to make a difference. Thats usually how it goes for me. Once I loose 6 to 8 pounds my restriction level decreases. I go in every 6 weeks for very small fills. Seems to work well for me.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
