I want to EAT EAT EAT!!!!

Recommended Posts

So this is my first time posting and I have read alot but just wanted to know if this is normal! I had lapband on 02/03/2011 and I have lost about 37pds. I've had 1 fill already at the end of March. I am CONSTANTLY hungry! I drink no less than 100oz of Water a day I work out 3 times a week with a trainer and 2 times a week doing strictly cardio(hardcore). I've gone from a 18-20size to a 12-14size so I know the last few months I've done well, I just terrified that with being hungry all the time that I'm gonna binge ,stretch my pouch and gain it all back. I thought the band was suppose to help you between meals and stay fuller longer but I am not experiencing that. I eat ALOT of protien and Protein Shakes as well. Anyone else struggling with this. Any suggestions?

Mmm lots of bandsters need more than one fill. Some dont need any, some do. For my part, ive been followed by a dietician and psychologist for a couple years to learn how to eat when you are actually hungry. It took years, but i finally got to feel it, and lost 50 pounds without dieting but cutting portions before being banded. I struggled many years from eating disorders and it ended in compulsions, thats why i became this size! I had to make sure i did not have compulsions before getting the lap band, and they stopped. Maybe read into it? There are couple books written on that, but all the ones i know are in french. I totally understand ur little "obsessions" right now and wanting to eat a big meal so bad!!

Just be patient, im sure it gets easier after a couple of fills or maybe even the next one.

The band is a lot of work, lots of mental work, and lots of ppl have told me they had to learn how to eat again, that

It sounds to me like you need fill #2. There is a simple soultion to this stress. Get another fill and get your band working.

When you are filled properly the hunger will cease! Sounds like it's time for #2.

It's not about being full, it's about not being hungry. Gotta pay attention to your body! For me I'm NEVER hungry, I can't honesty say my stomach ever growls anymore. But, it doesn't mean I don't wanna eat. So it's hard.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
