I have had those days, but there is nothing wrong with some bread. You are not on lock down. They say no bread cuz most people have trouble eating it.

I have had a few days that I just munch munch munch. Eat some protien, it will fill you up and stay with you longer or get out and do something.

Some days are really hard, you can do it!

Good Luck

Cheer up Shaun....nobody's perfect. When we stumble, get up and dust yourself off and keep of truck'in. Last week i snuck a few bites, okay more than two, bites of spaghetti after my husband had went to bed. Oh well. woke up the next day, forgave myself and that is that.

good luck. Saving :)

It happens, we are always too hard on ourselves. I saw my ex-boyfriend today who lives not too far from me and he ignores me like an insect - we had a very good connection many years ago and unfortunately I still really feel that he is the one for me. It was bad timing long ago (post divorce for me and confused), I can't go back and change that and I have to face it. I pray to God to give me guidance. Hang in there Shaun, just after Easter I had a bit of a cave in and ate 2 pretty big pieces of cake and was so mad at myself.

That's the spirit, Shaunt! It wasn't like you ordered a bucket of chicken and ate it all. It was just some bread...you're still okay :) Have a good day!

I had a half of candy bar at Breakfast yesterday. My kids were screaming and I was feeling stressed. I try not to feel bad--just get back on the diet ASAP.

Rachael, I know how stressful it can get with having kids. It's okay, don't beat yourself up too much over it. For the rest of the day, eat super healthy and drink lots of Water :)

One of the reasons I love the Lap Band is that the days of shame over cheating on a diet are OVER.

Shaunt, you're only a month in. You don't even have proper restriction yet (and it likely will be a while before you do). Give yourself a break. It's time to focus on the positive. Good nutrition, exercise, positive attitude.

Read a book on nutrition if you could use more info. (For example, "SuperFoods Rx" by by Steven G. Pratt MD is my fave.) If you have plenty of the good stuff on hand, you'll have less room for junk. At the same time, allow yourself a little of what you like even if it's "bad." Sweet tooth? A couple of squares of dark chocolate will hit the spot. Love bread? You need whole grains -- eat wheat bread (while you still can!).

As soon as your doc clears you to exercise, start. If you belong to a gym, do weight training, swimming, whatever appeals to you. Building lean muscle mass will burn calories day and night.

If you can't get to a gym right now, do sit-ups, wall push-ups, etc. at home. Go for a 10 minute walk and build from there. Exercise of any kind can be a terrific boost for mood and motivation. It really makes a big difference for me.

No need to beat yourself up any more. Once the band really starts working (with fills), you likely won't have irresistible cravings and endless appetite nearly as bad. It takes some getting used to eating 1 Cup of food at a sitting (if you're anything like me), but once it becomes a habit and you have proper restriction, SUCCESS is well on its way! Perfection not needed.

Good luck to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
