joolz1226 0 Posted May 6, 2011 Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum. I am 3+ years post-op. I lost 100 lbs, but have slowly gained back about 15 lbs. My doctor tells me I'm doing fine because I've pretty much maintained steady wl for over a year. My problem is that recently my fills have not worked. I went in one week, got a small fill and found that I was having dull pain near the band, so I drove right back and had an unfill. I waited a few weeks, then had a .3cc fill two weeks in a row and I'm so hungry. Why did the fill feel too tight one week, and then too loose the next few weeks? I find that I'm eating things I haven't been able to digest in a few years--breads, Pasta, etc. I think my 10cc band is at least at 6cc's, so the office is hesitant to give me a lot more--they think I'm at the end of my fill capacity. Any suggestions?
LaMonica 6 Posted May 9, 2011 What are you eating? Make sure that you are mostly eating Proteins and vegetables, and lay off on starches and breads as much. Keep drinking plenty of Water. Just because you can eat it doesn't mean that it's great for you to have, and it's quite possible that the weight you have put on is because of your increased carbohydrate intake. Do you exercise? Remember the band is a tool, not a "cure" for eating so make sure that you are putting in the same effort the band is as far as food choices.
