So I went to see my surgeon this morning at 10am to weigh in and get my first fill. I couldn't believe the size of the needle he came at me with. IT WAS HUGE!!!, and I'm a nurse so I'm used to needlesblink.gif. It didn't hurt at all, just a small little pinch and a some pressure but no pain. I've lost 18.5 pounds since surgery on March 28th, 2 pants sizes and no longer need the extenders for my brabiggrin.gif. I can almost get back into my levi jeans tongue.gif. He only gave me 2cc's and told me to stay on liquids today, soft food tomorrow, then back to normal on Saturday. I'm so excited and feel soooo much better than I did 4 weeks ago. I guess I need to check out some consignment shops for some summer clothes cause I'm not buying any brand new clothes anytime soon. Thanks for all the words of encouragement and support I've received so far, I'm so glad I found this forum. Hopefully I can lose another 12-18 lbs in the next 5 weeks until my next appointment.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
