Margo 0 Posted January 17, 2006 Just found out that the company my husband works for is changing health insurance companies AGAIN.....going from Humana to United Healthcare. How is this going to effect the coverage on my fills?
Alexandra 55 Posted January 17, 2006 Hi Margo, It shouldn't have any effect at all, since your coverage is continuous. Your new carrier will cover your medical expenses in accordance with the contract. Obviously I can't say whether your fills, etc. will be covered, since that's part of the contract. But the fact that you are a new member of the plan shouldn't have any effect on whether they are or not.
paula 4 Posted January 18, 2006 How is this going to effect the coverage on my fills? I suggest contacting your NEW insurance comp. and finding out what (or IF)they pay for lapbanding and its maintence (fills). 6 months after banding, I changed health insurances. The new one doesnt cover banding or maintance for it... while the old one did. With this being said, you may want to ask your surgeons office what the cost for a fill is - cash price! Thats the way Im having to go these days.
