jlkozar 0 Posted May 2, 2011 Hello All, well it has been 6 months and I am scheduled for my surgery to be held on 5/17. This afternoon I will be attending my Pre-Op nutrition class. Nervous is an understatement! Excited as well. I feel as if I have failed on so many other DIETs how can this be an exception. I would appreciate any tips, tricks and just ideas. I want to have energy, look good and have the confidence of a can do person. I am looking forward to sharing this journey and learning from all of you as wel. Blessings. bluescooby14 0 Posted May 2, 2011 That is just what I thought "I'll never make it" So far I have 5 days under my belt ! I think the first day I was looking forward to I had been eating all the chocolate I saw around lol and was ready . I had some intense wanna cheat moments this first weekend but I put off that last shake till I got really hungry and with ice and 1/2 bananna and lil bit Peanut Butter damn like an Ice cream sunday Hahaha but it quieted the roar. Do you get to have a meal or is it strict all liquid? I get to have the small meal plus some veggies in case of hunger . Lots of Broccoli and bell pepper and cucumbers lettuce carrots shredded in my salad and I got the packets of homemade italian dressing and subbed the Water for the oil ( got that idea on here ) makes a tasty diet . Good luck and keep us posted on your success . Hello All, well it has been 6 months and I am scheduled for my surgery to be held on 5/17. This afternoon I will be attending my Pre-Op nutrition class. losinandlovin 2 Posted May 2, 2011 Nerves are ok. This is an awesome beginning so nerves are in order. Hopefully you will learn a lot in your class tonight. Ask questions, take notes and make sure you understand. You say you want to have energy, then you must follow the rules to eating right. Lotsof Protein is a huge key. When in doubt ask your doctor. Let them guide you. As I always mention, take your measurements and keep a log once a month. it willbe a huge help in the future. the first week or two your body will be ehaling from the procedure and tring to identify this object, don't try to do or expect to much. let your body heal in it's time and it will not bother you anymore. Eat exactly what you are told to, when you are told to. Read tons on the message board and ask questions. These are the people who have been there and are succeeding. no ones body responds the exact same, but there are some fundamentals that apply to all of us. Listen to your body talk to you. Learn when it is really hungry and when it is use to having more so it is asking more. Don't cheat. You are setting yourself up and allowing yourself an excuse to not succeed. This really does work, but it requires you being disciplined and learning to not feed it any time it asks. I have so much energy and I love my new lifeand I am still far from goal. it was amazing how quickly my life changed. It is worth it, so stick to it no matter what. Make yourself repeat you are winning this time, not food, not junk, not bad habits, you are winning and you deserve to! I can't wait to hear more about your awesome journey. Keep us posted! CoCoA-RN 1 Posted May 4, 2011 I think being nervous and excited are both part of the process. I am due to be banned this summer and ever since I started the process I have have both feelings. I think that as it gets closer the more excited and nervous I get. I find that LBT is an inspiration, because there are tons of people here that can give their input and have had it done. Everyone's body is different but it is good that we can all help each other through our very unique journies to being healthier & happier people. Good luck
