April 25th, 2011..banded

Recommended Posts

I had my lapband surgery April 25th. I have been achy tired and confused feeling. I hurt in my chest...dr said it was from the gas. Suggested I tried gas x...still not much relief. I have tried to move around as much as possible...just so tired and want to lay down. I feel like I want to be back to normal.....real quick! Why do I feel like this?

You'll wake up one day and feel like new... it took me 4 or 5 days then I felt great! Totally normal. If you feel like taking a nap, by all means take one! You had major surgery, get your rest. Best of Luck on your journey!!!

I did but I made myself walk at least twice a day, half a mile each time. The more you move the faster you will heal. My routine was to drink some Water, take a gas-x, walk 1/2 a mile, drink some portein, sleep for 2 hours, get up and do it again. I got my water in and my Protein too.

I had the chest pain. It was the worst! The only thing that helped was tons of Water and a heating pad. Poor you!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
