Any Severe Migraine Suffers?

Recommended Posts

Has the band had any impact on your Migraines or medications. I am scheduled for the band and am concerned about the nausea that accompanies my headaches. Does anyone take Axert or anything else from that family (Imitrex, Relpax, Zomig)?

I suffer Migraines and they had tailed off but got worse for a while after banding. I think it was because fat stores toxins and as I was losing, I was releasing toxins into my body and that got me a little messed up for a while.

I don't take meds anymore (used to take Imitrex shots but don't anymore) so can't help you on the nausea. Sounds to me like something you should ask your doctor!!

SRaeM,

Yes I too suffer with monthly Migraines. I too was afraid that I couldn't have the band because of the severe nausea i get. You won't believe how many suffer like we do with miraines on this forum. I was surprised at all the answers I recieved when I asked about migraines also.

I don't take meds on a regular basis because I have migraines due to hormones so I experience them once a month usually but so far I've been fine with just Adult extra strength liquid tylenol for the pain and promethazine for the nausea.

Before I found the right medicine, I had Migraines 3-5 days a week! I take topamax as a prophylactic and Axert or MaxAlt as needed for breakthrough headaches. MaxAlt is great because it disolves under your tongue. I've actually had fewer migraines since banding. :) Keep promethazine handy for the nausea and you will be fine.

I have a history of Migraines since my teen years (now am 37 years old) and taken Zomig for mine. I still have migraines but they have seemed to lessen tremendously in frequency since I have lost over 100 pounds and exercise regularly. I still get nauseous with them sometimes but when the nausea hits, I try to do biofeedback with my mind of telling myself to focus on deep breathing. Just my 2 cents worth.

I suffered from weekly Migraines and took Imatrex injections and MaxAlt worked for me also. I have only had one Migraine since banding (almost 6 months) and didn't require meds to make it go away. I keep a script for nausea on hand and have not had any problems. I love my band~Mandy

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
