Hi everyone

I thought I would join your forum as I haven't had much joy on the UK forums. We are too small a country over here so there are a couple of people who answer every single forum post on the UK forums and so you only ever get one or two opinions over and over again!

I got the band on the 26th and so far things are fine. I'm on day three of a liquid only diet. I have some questions for you all about how things are going but for now I will just say hi, read some posts and say thanks for having me!

Hi ronnIa, I've just joined this group and am looking for people from uk or Ireland to talk to. I actually didn't realise there was a uk forum -doh- my surgery is provisionally booked for 12july in brussels - feeling slightly scared now cos it's actually going to happen. Have you had any problems so far. There are some scary stories out there - I didn't realise about the burping and hiccuping and wind pains and the rest!

Hi Fattyboomboom,

Good luck with your banding on 12 July in Brussels. I was banded on 19 April (I was banded in Brussels though I live in London) and I have to say that the hospital and staff (especially my surgeon Dr Chris de Bruyne and his team), were first class. Absolutely nothing whatsoever to worry about with regards to 'horror stories' nor having your surgery in Europe. The wind pains can be pretty intense but just ensure you stock up on some painkillers and you'll be fine. Happy to answer any questions you may have and here's to new and exciting journeys.

Thanks all :)

I'm two weeks out nearly and almost back to normal. Just a bit of soreness under the main scar. Yay! Roll on soft foods stage! xx
