OKCurt 0 Posted April 28, 2011 I just got banded and had bad gas pains. The best thing to do is walk. The first night and day after surgery as soon as gas pains started I walked. The nurses all stressed getting up and walking to help with the gas. By the 2nd day the gas pains were not as frequent. Asherscrashers 43 Posted April 29, 2011 the gas is from them pumping air into your stomach and it takes awhile for it to all come out. walking definately helps the pain whenever i walk i normally feel better in a couple minutes or gettting the gas- x strips works great too
