2 Years after surgery

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery almost two years ago, may 19th will be two years. My last fill was in february 2010. I was doing fine up until this year in feb. Out of no where it was so hard for me to drink and eat. When I did drink and eat sometimes I would throw up. I was scared that maybe my band slipped. I want to the dr and they did the xray. They said the band was fine but the tech said it looked like my band was to tight. How can that be...I havent had a fill in over a year and all of a sudden it gets tight. My dr wont take anything out of me and some days I am really srruggling to eat something. Has anyone experienced this????? I could see if I went and had a fill and it was to tight but I havent had one in over a year. What could be going on???

I have had sudden tightness sometime after a fill, but not as long as you. My dr. took some Fluid out and I was fine. I would go back to your doc. and describe what's been going on. I can't imagine why he won't take a bit out.

Could it maybe have partially slipped and they just can't see it on the x-ray? Very strange indeed. Personally I would talk to your doctor again and fully describe what is going on with you and your band

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
