It may take several fills before you stop getting hungry in between meals. It took my 6th fill before I was able to go 4 hours without getting hungry.

It does take that long. I did not understand this before the surgery. I didn't realize that they only add small increments of Fluid into your band because your stomach has to adjust each time they give you a fill. That is why you cannot eat solids for two days or maybe more depending on you. I am on my second fill and sometimes I am able to eat especially in the evening and sometimes I get discomfort and I stop eating. I go for my 3rd fill on May 14th and I can't wait. The nurses in my doctor's office tell me that the 3rd time is a charm and hopefully I wills start to feel restriction and start losing more weight. I am down 23 pounds since the onset but I am going back and forth on pounds for the last few months. I am hopeful that the next fill will be the one that gets me going. There is a post on this website that explains the fill process in detail, it really helped me to understand. If I find it I will come back and tell you where to locate it. Good luck and I will check in on you soon. It seems that we had our surgery about the same time.

"They" say everyone's sweet spot if different....just gotta find it......I used Dr. Kim in Colleyville, TX and he told me that each person'd body sets the perfect weight loss ratio with the band......

I was getting really stressed out that I was down 33 lbs since starting the pre-surgery diet and now I am starting to gain 1 lb here and there. It is driving me crazy. Glad I am not alone.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
