I haven't been losing weight for at least a month or two. It's my fault. I haven't been eating total garbage at all, but I've definitely fallen off that wagon and am getting back on. Any suggestions as to how to do this in a way that doesn't make me feel deprived? Thanks in advance!

Having just started out so I may not be the best help but: If it's hard for you because of temptation maybe you could try cutting one bad habit at a time, maybe every week or two. You could also try going back on a liquid diet for a week to bring you back to square one. Have you had a fill lately, do you need to go in and have one? Just a couple of ideas :) Hope it helps!

I haven't had a fill for maybe a month -- and it's odd, I'm kind of scared to go back in because I want to have lost weight before going! But you know what, that's silly. I'm going to call tomorrow and schedule one. I think I need it!

Start over... liquids, mushies for a few days. Plan out your meals. Make yourself satisfied. Find things that are lower calorie that you can eat more of. I'm assuming you are like me, where you can still eat anything. Just fill up on low cal stuff!

I wouldn't jump to a fill, get your eating on track first, and check your hunger level.

I'm not sure what type of WOE you're trying to follow, but if it's low carb, many people struggle with going cold turkey. So for 3 days just give up sugar (including fruit), then for 3 days give up what (and the sugar). For the next 3 days give up grains (along with the rest). Finally for the last 3 days give up starches. On day 13 tweak your diet a bit more so that now you're eating just Protein and green vegies...and keep your carbs under 60. Under 30 will result in faster weight loss.

If you're eating under 60gm of carbs you can eat a diet higher in fat. If you're eating over 60, you probably should pay attention to the fat.

If you're not doing low carb, then you can just ignore my post. :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
