After being within in the same five pounds for nearly two months, I took a stand two weeks ago. I realized I was starting to slip back into bad habits ... eating things that I shouldn't be and justifying it -- if I only have a little bit, it won't be that bad. I used to eat a lot more than this. Drinking more than I should be. Not exercising. Just getting very lazy about losing weight. And it was showing. My weight would be up a pound or two, then down a pound, then up a couple more. Things weren't going the way that they should. So I printed off menus online for high Protein diets. I've been following them for two weeks. I haven't been cheating like I had been. And it's paying off. Finally things are going the right way again. In the past two weeks I've lost 12 pounds!! It's great! And the best part is, is that it's re-energized me! It's made me want to really focus on this lifestyle again! I'VE LOST 72 POUNDS!! I just want to shout that from the rooftops! And although that's great, I know I have a long ways to go. I think that I'm ready to move on to that next step now. I'm about three and half months out from my one year bandiversary. I don't want to set myself up for any type of failure in thinking that I would reach 100 pounds gone by then. But I'm really going to work as hard as I can to see how close I can get! Thanks to everyone for listening! This board has been such an integral part of my weight loss -- even though I don't post a lot, I read daily. And your successes and struggles help me get through mine as well!!

Good for you. I am in the same boat. I hit 100 pounds and I have just fallen off my routine some. I still watch what I eat but I sneak a little something here and there and tell myself it is ok but I have virtually stopped losing weight. I am also in need of a fill, I see my Dr. today and hope to get one. Thanks for the inspiration! Good Luck to You.

I think you can do it!

I had started eating more than I needed to, and had to go back and retrain myself to take the smaller portion on my plate. What is on the plate is what I will eat. Just another lesson that I have to do the work, not the band.

Congratulations! I am soooo scared of slipping back into old habits. Like the old saying goes old habits die hard. What are the sites where you got these recipes from? That's about 9 pounds a month. I know you can do it. It will take all the hard work and dedication you can muster, but I have confidence in you. Keep up the good work! :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
