Maybe you need to get your Iron levels checked.

I agree with janB23.... I was also very tired. Told the nurse at a recent fill and she got the dr. to order a blood panel. When it came back and my Iron was almost non-existent....Starting taking Iron supplements in addition to my multivitiam, calicum and b-complex... I have much more energy and work out twice a day 2 days a week and run/jog/walk 3 miles everyday. you should definately tell your doc or nurse!! BamaMom

Have your Iron and Vitamin D levels checked. Some multi-vitamins are low in vit. D.

Hmm I wonder if I should refill the Vitamin d prescription I was supposed to be taking? My surgeon said my levels were low, but the Calcium chew I take has vitamin d in it. I too have been really tired lately and feel I've been struggling more in my workouts. Mine seemed to start when I started taking birth control, so I stopped taking it, it's only been 3 days since I've been off it. If it continues I'll mention it at my next visit next month. I'll refill the vitamin d in the mean time though

Seems that a lot of Lap Banders struggle with anemia.. myself included. When I found out and started taking Iron supplements, it made a huge difference. As far as Vitamin D.. my family doc suggested getting 15 minutes of sunshine a day.. without sunblock.. as many days as possible. WOW! What a difference that makes for me. Here in northern Michigan it's been raining and gloomy for two days and I'm desperate for my sunshine fix!! Does a little sun therapy help anyone else??

I am on that page,, the sunshine I think really helps! I went for a 45 min jog today (had been a couch potato for three days) and I feel like a new woman! Sunny Cali weather!:Banane04:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
