Massive PB last night

Recommended Posts

Hey all~

I had my first major PB last night, I have had them before but this one I would call MAJOR.

I ate a 6" pizza Sub from Subway (says Heather as she ducks from all the screaming I will get for eating something so bad)

Well this morning I wake up with a horrible sore throat... and the sniffles. I have a cold, but I also think that I really irritated my esophagus last night. I tried to eat a salad at lunch and couldn't get any down.

Should I stick with liquids and mushies to heal my throat? I think I have seen you guys post that here before.

THANKS, and don't worry, I will never eat the bread BEAST again!!!

Heather if you are feeling that bad, I would stay on straight liquids...not even mushies for 24 hours and then go to mushies for another 24 just to make sure everything is healed and all swelling is down.

Forget about your sore throat and worry about your band! After a bad PB, you need to take it easy a couple days. Stick to soft foods and liquids only to let things settle. Girl, take care of yourself!

Another thing to mention, is that you might make sure you are careful not to eat right before bed. If the food sits in your pouch all night, since you are laying down it's probably likely that it sits there until morning, which could make you very tight in the morning which might cause problems THEN even if last nights meal seemed fine, you know?

Feel better!

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I took it easy for 24 hours and I am fine. Cold is almost gone too!

I ate earlier last night and it really helped.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
