Hello Everyone,

I am new the this forum however, I had Lap Band surgery on 12/1/2010!

I am a little frustrated at this point b/c my scale is not moving!

My last fill was 2.5 weeks ago & under fluroscopy & yes i have restriction & i'm not eating at all what i use to but no changes on the scale.

Have been eating a lot of soft foods ( think thts mushies ) trying to eat more solids like fish. Learing how to eat again is not tht easy!

I feel better if I at least saw the scale move. Im a little unhappy rgt now, but hoping things will pick up soon!

Have you spoken with your doctor about your lack of progress? How overweight are you? The smaller you are, the slower the weight loss (usually).

Hang in there!!! I went the last 6 weeks and lost only 1 lb. I felt VERY discouraged. I thought really, i only lost 1 lb?? But It was 1 lb that I said goodbye to FOREVER!!! ;) It's better I lost that 1 than gained 1 and even though the lbs are not coming off as fast as I'd like them to, I try to remember that SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!!!:D Don't be frustrated just try to look ahead and keep moving!!! You may be losing inches. Thats just as nice!!!

Good Luck B)

I would be concerned that you are too tight. If you can't eat solids the band is too tight. This is my doctors opinion not mine. Eating mushies for life is not sustainable. Could you be eating more calories than you think because you are eating sliders? What percentage of your calories come from liquids? That should be minimal. Protein Shakes should be low cal/fat and used for prework out snack not as main meals.

Thanks to everyone for the replys!

Yes, I can eat some solids. I can eat string Beans, deli tukey, shrimp , & fish.

chicken always comes back & doesnt digest.

My last fill was about 2.5 weeks ago. This fill definitly put at restriction but im still relearning how to eat! the chew chew chew & no drinking.

So Im trying to figure if im to tight or if i was eating to fast & i now see that i was taking to big of a bite. I now use knife & fork for everything.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
