I'm surprised you are eating solid foods at this point. I was on a liquid diet / soft or mushie foods for almost a month before I could eat solid food again. As far as restriction goes, it may take several months before the band really starts doing it's job. My doctor was very consertative when adding to the band. I probably didn't have good restriction for about 6 months. I did feel full quick, but I could still eat. My advise is to listen to your body and walk away from the table when you feel full. Good luck!

I'm 5 days post op ... I'm eating but everything hurts going down. I'm really surprise to see you being able to eat anything at this point but I guess everyone is different.

Early on I had no restriction. Two days post op, I easily could've eaten, but I did follow my doctor's post op recommendations. I was banded in October and have only recently started to get restriction.

I wasn't hungry at all until 6 days post op, but I've had restriction... after you eat something semi-solid, does it make you feel full at all? Some do, some don't... which is why this period is called "bandster hell". I'm sorry you're not feeling it yet!

I was banded on 4/18 my doctor does not put any fill in when he first puts the band in. He said its so that your stomach can get used to having a FB in your body. I don't know if your doctor put any fill in but this maybe why you are still hungery. I know that I am hating this liquid diet!! Are you stil on the liquid diet?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
