Vitamins

Recommended Posts

Good morning everyone,

Could I get some feedback on what types/brand of Vitamins everyone is taking. My dietitian said no Gummy ones but the other ones are so huge. Is there a liquid multi Vitamin out there? Surgery in 1 week. Thanks! :)

Centrum chewables; learn to love 'em.

I take Flintstones complete chewable and my Calcium is just a Walgreen's name brand 600mg with Vitamin D (I think). This is what was recommended to me by my surgeon.

Thank you peps for the feedback! I was at the mall today and stopped by GNC, the Sales Manager showed me a women's powderd multi Vitamin and said I could add it to my shakes, I'm considering trying this. He said if I buy the choc shakes I should use the choc. vitamin mix. I'll let you know if I try it and how it is!

My surgeon says Centrum chewables are fine for bandsters, that childrens Vitamins aren't appropriate for adults....even if you take two of them. BA & Celebrate make multis for bariatric patients, but unless your having deficiencies of some kind, they're probably over-kill for most of us as we don't malabsorb.

My doc prescribed me a chewable prenatal Vitamin to take as my multivitamin. Doesn't taste great but I heard they are great for skin and hair and I have no complaints.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
