stevenjoec 0 Posted April 23, 2011 What should I expect? I've been able to eat just about anything and everything I want for the past 2 weeks...which has NOT been good!!!! Old habits kicking in!!! Someone please tell me it will get better after the fill????
bzbrown 1 Posted April 23, 2011 I had my first fill a few hours ago. Laid down, area was clean and swabbed. He used a needle to inject what I believe was Lidocane to numb the area, that stung for a moment. He used a bigger needle to put in the port. This meant he had to feel around the area to make sure he had the right spot. I did not feel the needle, but the pressure was not comfortable. He helped me stand up, with the longer needle still in. Injected, had me drink Water, asked my response, continued until he was happy with my response. I began to feel dizzy about this point, and then my vision blurred, face went pale, and he was finished. I puked. I do believe the puking was in response to the mental response to standing and having a needle sticking out of me lol. I am on a liquid diet for 2 days, then 2 days soft, and have had no issue as of today. But the port site hurts real bad. All in all I found it to be very uncomfortable. stevenjoec 0 Posted April 23, 2011 Thanks for the info! So is the liquid diet for 2 days typical after a fill?
Ssauce74 0 Posted April 23, 2011 I have also been able to eat and drink whatever I want for the past two weeks, and your right, ITS NOT GOOD!! I get my first fill on May 2nd. I cant wait cause I am afraid to gain back everything I lost pre-op. I have actually been treating these two weeks like "last supper" meals of all my favorites. I know I shouldnt but...... Good Luck to you!!!

Good Luck to you!!! You read my mind!!! At this moment I keep thinking "what do I need to eat that I'll never have again?" That's the same thing I did before my surgery. I had several "last suppers". I'm dreading the fill because I"m going to be out of town and now I find out I'm going to be on liquids....its rough. Ok, so I'm being a little whiny right now!!!!
