Eating too much- stitch in Side

Recommended Posts

Ok, I was banded Feb 28th and I am still trying to get a handle on my eyes bigger than my stomach issue. Lately since my first fill if I eat too much then I get a cramp in my left side. Feels kind of like a cramp you would get from running or something. Anyone else experience this and if so what is it from???

I get the same thing! But for me it can be in either side, I too think it is from eating too much, but now sure how it applies? Good to know I am not the only one!

My banding was twenty days after yours. What is your secret to rapidly loosing weight? When did you receive your first fill?

32311- Not sure if you are talking to me or Candice but anyway here is my story...

My secret is.... maybe a little deceiving. I had to do a 6 month supervised diet for insurance so I started my journey last October at 286lbs and from there I lost about 10 lbs. So I started my 2 week pre op dier around 275 and lost 11 lbs during that. So technically I have lost 19 since surgery. It was all will power till my first fill where I felt restriction for about a week and a half and then not much. Now after my seconf fill I am noticing I have a hard time eating anyting unless I chew chew chew, which is what you are supposed to do so that is good!!!

So glad to hear I am not the only one. I was thinking something was wrong for a little bit so it makes me feel better knowing there are also people out there that get this crampy feeling if they over eat!!:D

I was banded 2/18 and I get the exact same thing, but I can usually only feel it when I stand up. I thought I was the only one, but apparently we all feel it. And it really does feel exactly like a runner's cramp.

I was told when I had my sugery if you eat to much or feel like something is stuck to lean to the left and it actually helps. I get that pain also. I

I'm back on the boards bc I have been super stressed and have derailed from my exercise and eating habits.

I needed a reality check as to why I went through all the steps to get this done & need to get back to working the band. Any help is appreciated!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
