Trying this 1 more time. Today I meet my new Surgeon for the first time.

Recommended Posts

I have a 3:00 apt. to meet my new surgeon, and his staff. Also I am suppose to get a slight fill. "I hope so, I'm getting hungrier more often." So it's time for a fill.

I will also find out if he wants to make himself some money by changing this 4cc band to a newer model. I'll see what he has to say. But this one has good restriction. So I am not really interested.

I am interested in seeing if his Teacher in WLS (MY OLD SURGEON) gets brought up in conversation.

Ill be back later, Shirley.

Hope it goes well. Have to agree with Marcy, didn't know they made a band so small!

It's an older version band that is no longer used for various reasons.

Yep it's a oldie but a goodie.

He was glad to take me on as a patient. I lost 2lbs since last Thursday. So Boop oop a Doop ! I am doing just fine. I am wright on track 1 - 2lbs a week is fine by me. So I am dieting with a window between 800 - 1200 Cal. a day, and 60 - 70G of Protein a day. That is working for me.

I got a small fill So I have 2.75cc in a 4cc Band.

I feel good restriction also

Yes he was telling me what a pain in the A*s he was to work for,

Excellent Chief of Bariatrics Surgeon. But a bad Attitude if something

doesn't go his way. We laughed about that.

I go back in 4 weeks. I guess he wants to see how i'm doing as a patient. As far as weight Loss.

That turtle is slowly moving.

Any idea what these various reasons might be?

Not sure, from what I've read a lot of those fitted with the 4cc band haven't been able to find the right restriction, erosion, slips, etc.

O.K Thanks. I just want to know because mine will be 5 yrs. old this year, and it is in great shape. I hope it stays that way.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
