spoiltmom 44 Posted April 20, 2011 Since my last fill I've noticed some of my pain is from all this air/gas or whatever it is in my esophagus. When I swallow it's like the food is pressing against the air and it's uncomfortable until I burp. Is that normal?
Princess_Gottalose 1 Posted April 20, 2011 I have that SAME feeling its awful until the air comes up!!! I have never been one to make myself be able to burp and i have a hard time doing it... Usually i just have to wait till it passes or my body decides to burp! I guess its normal... I am happy with my last fill and feel like i am at the right spot! Jenn1214 120 Posted April 21, 2011 I thought I burped a lot before the surgery but it's nothing compared to my burping now. I sound like a truck driver, and usually at inopportune moments! So embarrassing
tnt21705 8 Posted April 21, 2011 The exact same thing is happening to me. Like a stuck burp. I can feel the liquid move over the air bubble. I have my husband pat me on the back (like a baby)...... just have to wait for it to come up
spoiltmom 44 Posted April 21, 2011 So how far out from surgery are you ladies? I'm 8 months out. The burping has gotten stronger for more as my fill level has gone up.
BandedJenny 0 Posted April 21, 2011 I'm burping all the time. I get embarrassed especially when I'm in front of other people that don't know about my lap-band. I was told the burping is something to get used to.
mattie7632 24 Posted April 21, 2011 I only burp if I drink after eating--which we're not supposed to do. I get hiccups a lot though, just after eating
Princess_Gottalose 1 Posted April 21, 2011 I was banded June 21 2010 so I am almost 10 months out... Like you said it gets worse as my fills go up... I have also had someone pat me on the back like a baby to help it come up LOL The things we do! haha
spoiltmom 44 Posted April 21, 2011 Oh yes I get the dreaded hiccups also! My one year old thinks it's hilarious
