The Henry Ford Hospital has the Monopoly on Bariatric surgery. Yes it will be 5 yrs. this October, and I lost over 120lbs. on MUSCLE MILK LIGHT. You keep saying MUSCLE MILK, and I am talking about the LIGHT. I had problems with what they thought was a blown band. I also moved, so I had to find a new Surgeon, who I will meet on Thursday.

He also trained at HF under the Chief Surgeon. "My Surgeon" Yes 195 Cal. is the total, and 25G. Protein to 8 ounce shake. I checked with a fellow patient who is a member of their Centennial Club for people who have lost over 100lbs in 1 year, and she said that they are definitely still suggesting the Light to all their patients Because It is low in Cal., High in Protein, and Low in sugar for all patients. That works for me.

Check Your whey Product for sugars, we are told that to much of them daily can be fattening. See this for yourself. Remember it is a suppliment.

Thank you for responding again, it was the MUSCLE MILK (NOT light) that had all the bad reviews and stated it was NOT for weight loss purposes (once again regular Muscle Milk). I apologize for the misunderstanding, that was my fault. Thank you for posting that information, I looked up with light added and found very different reviews than on the Muscle Milk. There was also other controversy over muscle milk that the company has taken care of as well.

Thank you for the friendly lesson Shirley :) It is still higher calorie than what I was discussing, but that's another issue I won't even debate on as it's not as big of a diff as I initially stated.

One Question if you don't mind. The substitute that you take. (FORGOT THE NAME) Does it come in flavors? Because through the Light, I have a wide variety to choose from. Just want to know if it's the same with yours in case I venture out

to take a look. No Debate or War over a Protein Drink. Just a difference in the wording.

No problem - it's Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein powder - They have chocolate, chocolate Peanut Butter, vanilla, strawberry & Cookies & cream. My favorite (and I'm a chocolate lover) is the vanilla! It's awesome! It's also very inexpensive ($13-15 for a 2 lb canister) and free shipping to home from Walmart's website.

I didn't mean to be rude at all, I just want to make sure people do obtain accurate information on here since we're all in this together and here to help eachother with what's good and bad. :)

I totally understand that kind of thinking.

You're welcome :) Glad Shirley didn't take it as me being argumentative like some people on here might. You need to fight for what you believe, especially when you know people are on here looking for accurate information!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
