The fills take a couple of weeks to fully take effect. Just monitor your hunger level and see if it decreases. For me, I had my first fill of 5.5ccs, I felt about the same, then a few weeks later my hunger was gone, almost completely.

Also if you had a really small fill.. like 1 or 2ccs you may not feel anything.. but it takes a while for your body to figure it all out.

I had 4 fills over the past year after surgery which had little to no effect. I finally had my last fill (#5) under fluoroscopy which has definitely given me the restriction I've been hoping for and waiting for.

Your first fill may or may not be the one to get you to restriction.

Good luck. Be patient. Don't give up. It's a process.

I had my first fill on Thurs. The nurse said that I may not notice any changes with the first fill and that it could take a few fills before noticing that I am where I want to be. I got 4 cc's on Thurs. I have not really noticed anything either. Hope that this helps. :)

I get my first fill on April 25th (AGB 03/30/11). I am ready for it, so hungry and really having to police myself. Hope you feel restriction soon.

The first fill locks the band in place. Even if it is a big one you might not feel different at all. A lot of places set you up for visitation every 6 - 8 weeks for another fill.

Remember,, this is a fill after fill process. It will take time to get where you want to be. In the meant time Protein will help tame down the hunger.

So it's up to you to control. Protein will help.

Hello , I am new to this so please be patient. I had my Lapband placed on Dec. 20th 2010 and it does appear that you have to have a series of adjustments . I have had 2 and I have'nt lost much weight at all since the surgery only about 8 lbs. I will have my 3rd adj. on April 18th and i really hope and pray that this will be the one that reallyworks for me. So for those of you out there that may be going through tha same thing I would love to hear back from you.

If you are still on liquids after the fill, it makes sense you are hungry. Your stomach is empty! Many people don't feel much difference from the first fill. My restriction kicked in on my third fill.

Chin up! Protein Shakes. I had to do liquids for nearly a week after my last fill due to a holiday weekend. My nurse practitioner who did the fill didn't want me in the ER as the doc's office was out of town for a conference. My surgeon had done all my fills before that, and he only had me do liquids for the remainder of the fill day. But I made it through, miserable, but I made it.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
