Feelin better & Weekly Weigh in

So after my scare Thursday, I am really trying hard to push FLUIDS!!! I didn't have the scope done Friday and I do not want to end up in the hospital with IV's and tubes and all... So I really need to push push push Fluids!!

I went to the store and bought Powerade & GatorAde and Water! I keep gurgling but I guess I have to just get used to it! They took all the Fluid from my band (2cc's) thats all I had in there! I am just taking it day by day! Last night I tried to eat... mashed potatoes with a bit of gravy from Boston Market; I ate a few bites and was done!

I stopped and bought some baby food! Yes Baby food (fruits).. and applesauce... and squash... things that are pureed! I am going to try to start all over because I feel like something isn't right and have to start at the begining again!

When I weighed in today I lost 5 lbs since last week! Wow.. so unhealthy though; I haven't eaten a real meal since last Friday! I told them I had the flu last week! Funny how I have to lie about my weight loss @ weight watchers.

My total weight loss 82.2, I weigh 187.8!!! OMG 57149-80-BSTL.jpg

Amazing huh! Well... I don't have much planned for this weekend! My son started t-ball today, his first game is Wed Night!

Kids are on school vaca this week!!! I am off Monday and back to work Tues! Till next time!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
