hharrison 0 Posted April 15, 2011 Hi!! I am new to this site. I have Tricare Reserve Select and have already gone for my consulation with Dr. My BMI was 41.2, I almost fainted BTW!! =) I am going this afternoon for my Pshyc visit and waiting for nutritionist to contact me for my 2 visits with her. My consultation I had to pay $64.00, which included my deductible ($50.00) and then today they said it would cost me $94.00. I know they said I would have to pay for the nutritionist visits and should only be about $50.00 each session. My question is: How much out of pocket do you end up paying for the surgery itself? Just curious how much it's gonna cost me. Help!! =) Have a great day!!
Dave_NW 92 Posted April 15, 2011 I very strongly suggest you contact Tricare and ask those very specific questions. You want to be sure you aren't being charged for internal costs at the surgeon's office that you're not required to pay, and that you don't end up with a whopping bill you aren't expecting. Find the Tricare office that pertains to you and call them up. They're the final word on what you should expect to pay: http://www.tricare.mil/westtsc/default.cfm Good luck! L12 13 Posted April 15, 2011 With TRS, you have a catastrophic cap of $1000. You will have to pay the amount of your copays/deductibles until you have paid up to the $1000 for this fiscal year, which started Oct. 1. I had my surgery in December, so I had not put a big dent in my cap yet that year. Total, I probably paid about $800 of copays for everything (psych eval, preop testing, surgery, etc.) until I reached my cap. 1 ErinMarie reacted to this
