I want a hamburger so bad! I can't eat bread anymore and that's fine. I can still have a patty with veggies but I dont know how to make one that is good and moist. The last time I made them I used 80/20 ground beef and pan fried them. They were so dry I couldn't eat them.

Any tips for me?

I gave up red meat for Lent and I was like you I was craving a hamburger so bad. I got hooked on turkey meat. I use the 95/5 white ground turkey meat and mix it with the powder onion dip to give it flavor. I did this both on the stove and on the grill and surprisingly they where great and not dry.

I met my niece for lunch the other day and I could not get my eye off this burger they had on the menu. 4 cheese bacon burger. I had it with no bun, all the fixin's only got 3 - 4 bites down but it was delish!

Anyway, a chef friend of mine told me to soak bread crumbs in milk and add them to the ground beef and it would keep your burger moist and juicy. I don't know the quantities but you should just be able to eye ball it.

always turn out juicier when broiled or grilled too...

I enjoy mixing salsa with the ground beef... salsa burgers rock!

I agree, salsa in the beef is delicious. Sometimes I just dump whatever combo sounds good into the beef and mix it--salsa, Worcestershire or soy sauce, grated cheese, bread crumbs, spices, etc. The burgers are always very moist when I add ingredients to the beef.

I use 93/7 ground turkey, egg, pancko breadcrumbs, light barbecue sauce, shot of worcestire sauce, pepper relish(Harry & David), lemon/pepper seasoning and then you can either make patties, meatballs or mini meatloafs(fill normal size muffin pans...bake....and then freeze so you have individual size meals to pull out in a pinch). The meatballs and meatloaf I use Prego's roasted pepper/garlic healthy jar sauce on top and it's very tasty.

When I make hamburgers I cook them normally, just however you like, then I put them over in a crock pot with beef broth and let them set on low heat (or high depending on how soon you are eating) until they have soaked up some of the juices and are moist. My family does this at reunions and get togethers and everyone really likes them.
