Okay-how messed up is this...I am on this forum eating 2 pieces of white pizza pie! I find myself eating more because I know I am getting the surgery in 2 months! WTH? Did this happen to anyone else>:o

I did my 'goodbye tour' the last few days before going on my pre-op liquid diet. Wendy's french fries of all things. Confided to my Nutritionist and she said it's quite common. she called it 'Last Supper' syndrome.

Just be careful...I understand it because I'm to be banded on Monday and I'm going through the liquid diet and already mourning food that I won't be able to touch for the next month. Anyhow, my insurance company will not approve you if you don't lose weight or at least maintain your weight that you started with. If you gain, they will not approve your surgery. Just an FYI. I don't know if all of them are like that but mine was.

I have been going through the same thing. The closer to surgery the harder it is to eat right. During the 6 month supervised diet I initially lost 32 lbs but the last month I gained 7 of it back. Not happy about that part, but I still keep trying to eat good instead of giving up. I am looking forward to getting banded and being able to loose this weight for good.

I'm getting banded on May 20th and i also feel the need to get all my "good" eating out. I'm starting to feel a little guilty about it, but i'm still going to the gym. Luckily I'm a selfpay so i dont have to worry about not being approved or losing a certain amount. I start my pre-op diet on May 9th and I'm already looking in the stores for things I'll need. Best wishes to everybody! I'M SOOOOOOO EXCITED AND CANT WAIT TO BE BANDED!

At this moment, right now, i feel like a death row inmate about to choose my last meal. my liquid diet begins tomorrow, so i have one more meal today that will be eaten in "the old way". this will be the last time i put something in my mouth without thinking about it (without having to PB or get stuck that is). *sigh* while i'm beginning to get excited at the possibility of getting slimmer, i'm still afraid that i will fail like i have so many times before. Anyway, I AM going to go through with this though, and i'm going to do my very best to follow the rules and change my habits. no turning back.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
