lee_nyc 0 Posted April 14, 2011 Hello! I just wanted to introduce myself. I just was approved by insurance this week (yay!) and meet with the surgeon on April 27th. I'm hoping to schedule my surgery for end of May/early June. I'm 28, live in NYC and looking to lose approx 100lbs. I'm really excited about this process--and while nervous, now that I've made the decision just can't wait to start this journey! I'd love to hear from others who have success stories to share, were recently banded, as well as those who are looking to have surgery in the same time frame as me, so we can hopefully go through it together. Thanks!

Dibley Dawn 84 Posted April 29, 2011 Hi Lee, Just stopping by to say hi. I also live in NYC and my surgery is on May 4th. i'm trying to lose about 1,000 pounds...at least that's what it feels like i have to lose. I'd be happy with 100, but over the moon if i could lose 150-200. I have lots of pounds to spare and I'd willingly give them to anyone who wants them

crittlebird 7 Posted April 30, 2011 I just had my surgery on April 20th, I am doing great. I have lost 7 lbs so far since surgery. I am 53 and have had 2 strokes, so if I can do it, so can you. I have been on liquids since the 19th of April, and now I am at the point where food does not interest me at all. That is since the surgery. At first, I would have cravings, but they go away after about a week or so. Good luck to all of you!!!
Thee-O 15 Posted April 30, 2011 Good luck. I will be getting mine on May 9th. Excited and nervous as well.

Was wondering about your ability to exercise since youv'e had two strokes?? Have you created alternate forms of exercise? I am not banded yet- will attend my seminar tonight. Am excited to start the process and get on to a new healthier life. Good luck to you.
