I got my lapband through Journeylite almost 2 years ago. I was a cash patient and paid close to 13K for it. I did it this way b/c it was FREE fills and adjustments for LIFE! I went through several seminars to find the right Dr for me and found one that I thought was good (I will not mention his name here though) Things have been good, lost 70 lbs so far with another 40 to go. It had been a while since I was in for an adjustment or even a Dr's visit so today I went in to make sure I'm on the up and up & what do they tell me??? Journeylite in Houston has CLOSED! What does that mean for all us cash patients?? We will now have to ADDITIONAL pay cash each time we want to see the Dr & even more to havean adjustment!

Are you kidding me?? How can they just up and leave Houston and not tell any of their patients? And how could the Dr not either?

So here I am & I'm just thinking I can't be the only one that is ticked off about this! Right?? So is there anyone else out there that is not happy about this? I hear there may be something in the works against Journeylite in it's home city of Cincinnati...does anyone know about this??

Did you ever find out what to do? I too was a cash patient and paid a LOT to get the "free" fills. I went to look them up today to schedule and appointment and couldn't find them anywhere, I ran across your post and I am so upset!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
