I'm full!....No, I'm hungry!!!

Recommended Posts

I recently got my second fill. Since then, when I eat, I get full on relatively small quantities of food. Unfortunately, I get hungry 1-2 hours later (no liquids either). I assume that this is because I have some restriction from my fill but not enough to keep the food in my upper stomach pouch for very long.

Does this make sense? If so, I need another fill!

Well that's what I thought too, but then I got my second fill and realize I liked it better before! I did better eating small quantities frequently. Now at only 2.6cc I have a hard time getting down my Protein causing me to eat more carbs, keeping me fuller longer....and guess what? Gained 2 pounds this week. I'll be asking for an un-fill to go back to where you are, if it doesn't get closer to that on it's own soon!

According to my doctors guidelines yes, that means you are not quite there yet but getting close. A slight fill just might do the trick.

it takes a few weeks for your fill to fully take effect. So give it sometime. If in a month you are still hungry after 1-2 hours then get another fill

You know I feel this way all the time. I feel like just when I think I've figured it out things change and I'm guessing again. I'm full and can't eat another bite and in an hour or two because I ate so little I'm hungry again. I'm starting to think I'm just eating too fast. That it's backing up on it's way down. But then moves through and I'm hungry. I have had 1 fill that I remember (1 after surgery I don't) and 5.5cc's in my band. My next fill isn't until mid May. Hope to figure things out because I'm so confused about whether I need a fill or not.

I feel the same way. I have about 7cc in a 10cc band and I am still not losing weight. Lost 25 but have 50 more to go. Feel like I wish they would totally fill it at first, then take saline out as needed. At least I would have lost a ton of weight by now! SO FRUSTRATED! Banded Oct 2010

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
