I have tried the tropical flavor and it was good. It was almost $5.00 foe a bottle at the GNC store. It was ok for a treat but it's a little costly for daily use as far as I am concerned.

Good luck!

When I was on the clear and full liquid phase, it was a life saver (I'm referring to the Isopure clear beverages). It's not the greatest tasting stuff ever, but better than some other choices. I also found that it was better very cold or over ice. Some people have problems with cold liquids after surgery, so be careful with that. I drank at least one everyday while on the liquid phase. It helped to get in Protein requirements and curb hunger pangs. I have only tried the fruit Punch and Grape Frost. Personally, I liked the grape the best, but that's a matter of personal taste. You can order other flavors from GNC and other places online, but I think you have to buy in bulk. I don't use them now that I am on regular food, though. They are expensive and feel fuller longer with food-which is how the band is supposed to work. Hope this helps. :)

I bought the tropical ones for while I'm on the Clear Liquids. It is terrible warm but when refrigerated or on ice its not so bad. Mine came in a pack of 6 8oz bottles for about 5 dollers. Another good one is Unjury which was recommended by my doctor. You can go to unjury.com and order it. I think GNC may also carry it. Good luck :)

I have 3 big containers of the powdered Isopure from GNC. vanilla, chocolate, and banana cream. I like the Vanilla and Chocolate ok. They tasted better than some other Protein Shake mixes I've tried. They are not over sweet. Good for mixing but I can't say that I "love" them. I usually mix some frozen fruit with the vanilla or a sf coffee mix with the chocolate. I also throw in sf vanilla flavoring sometimes. And I like it blended in a bullet type personal blender. I like they are low carb and 50g of Protein. So that's out of the way with one shake. But still I do not look forward really to drinking them every day. Would like to find something better tasting. But they are "ok". Do the trick. That kind of thing.

I only use the Isopure shakes (not the fruit flavors). I like the vanilla and chocolate...one benefit to the is that they are lactose free which is great if you have lactose issues. They have 25g Protein and no carbs per scoop.

That said, each Nut or surgeon has their favorites. Since you will be drinking them for a while I suggest you test several different brands to see which ones you like best...

I have tried the Isopure Plus clear drinks (Fruit Punch and Grape Frost). By itself the taste wasn't bad. I like it much better after dropping in some Crystal Light.

I love Isopure the big bottles. I have 1/2 that I will sip on during the day, then down the other half post workout with my trainer. I keep several kinds of Proteins around as I get bored easily

The Isopure clear liquid is nasty! I couldn't even swallow any flavor. The only thing that gave me Protein on my clear liquid diet was the Unjury chicken broth. Needless to say during my clear liquid portion I did not get nearly enough protein. For full liquids unjury all the way

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
