I was banded in 07/2010. I have PCOS, (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and was told that my weight loss would be slower then the average cause of the PCOS. As of today I've lost 54 pounds. Which I'm happy with, don't mind the slow weight loss as long as i'm losing. The past two months, I feel like I've lost my motiviation. The weather is still cold, im bored with my exercise and haven't been doing them. Find myself wanting the foods I shouldn't have. It's like I forgot why I had the band to begin with. I need to get my motiviation back so I can get back on track and start losing more weight. Anyone else get in a rut and have some thoughts on how to get back to being motivated? All information is welcome !!Thanks.

We all go through times like this....so make a list - why did you have the band to begin with? Bet you can think of 5 things really fast. Look over the list then begin another line - one that has five things that have happened since you've lost an incredible 54 pounds..new clothes? more energey? Now - you should be feeling better - so why not go all the way and think of five new things you would like to acomplish with additional weight loss....run a race, climb a mountain what would motiate you - then post those list where you can see it every day and remind yourself that it's YOU that you're doing this for. What old foods do you miss? Can you stop yourself at just a taste? Then do that, but remember, a lot of those foods that got us into trouble to begin wtih we CAN'T eat anymore - and that's really the beauty of the band......Good Luck - cut yourself some slack and Celebrate your 54 pounds!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
