The Big Day is this Wednesday! April 13th!

Recommended Posts

Congrats! Buy some Gas-X strips and wear something comfy to and from the hospital (ie. PJ pants and a sweatshirt.) It may be ideal to find a Protein drink you like that you can drink post-op. I recommend trying Muscle Milk, Labrada RTD, and Isopure.

Good luck! :)

Hello,

I'm being banded on this day as well. I'm a little nervous, not about the surgery itself but about the pain afterwards.

Good Luck and Congratulations on starting a new beautiful and healthier life!

Big congrats to you!! Make sure you have your chewable vitamins and Calcium pills ready, also make sure your pain medicine is already filled and ready. Have a pill cutter and a Protein Shake that you like! Keep a positive attitude and remember WALK WALK WALK it helps with the gas. :-)

bring a pillow for the car ride home and put over your belly to help absorb the bumps in the road, wear comfy clothes and prepare for alot of gas lol but it'll be ok and the surgery is definately worth it! i just got banded on 3-30-11 and lost 15 pounds post surgery!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
