Can salads go down pretty good. Does anyone out there have an issue with salads. Minus croutons of course. Are there any foods that are usually in a salad I should avoid. I am afraid of vomiting. Thanks

I have to stay away from having chicken ( any style) in salads. Otherwise, S T U C K. That's no fun. Haven't run across anything else in salads, including walnuts, raisans, etc., that cause a problem.

I am only able to eat iceburg, nothing else. Have tried cutting into little pieces and chewing, chewing, chewing....then bam....big time stuck. Try it, that the only way you will find out. Good luck!!!

Vegetarian taco salad (with any kind of lettuce) is one of the few foods I can eat without issue - while being slightly too full (band wise).

 No problem with salad. Love Greek salad with crumbled feta on it and black olives, or caesar with homemade bacon bits, parmesan and some croutons for a treat! I find the crunch of a salad very satisfying as well in addition to the health benefits of fresh greens. I also happen to love the taste of a fresh salad too so I'm glad i don't have a problem eating it.

p.s. I'm running on a bit about the food as I am so tired of my liquid diet that is now over 3 weeks because of my jaw surgery. I would so love to have a salad or something crunchy.

I have trouble with lettuce. Gets stuck every time. All the goodies on top are OK, like cheese, eggs, meat. And since my fill a couple of weeks ago, if there's a hint of bread or breading, it'll get stuck. But as you can see by these responses, everyone's different.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
