Yes it is but it is going to be so worth it in the end. I had to be on a 4 week Protein shake diet. I was allowed one frozen dinner no more than 400 calories. I would have to say it was the hardest thing I had to do. I had my surgery on the 5th and ironically the thought of food now physically makes me sick. I know it is tough but you can do it! The end result is what kept me going. Also another thing you can do is everytime you think about the liquid crap is exercise. It helped me. I would take my kids for a walk or something everytime I got upset about the diet. Sorry I am rambling, just wanted to offer some support. :)

I've got 5 days left on my 2 week diet and it was going great until I went grocery shopping for my family! I felt like I was starving to death in there. Surgery on Friday and I've lost 15 pounds! Eye on the prize!

It will be over before you know it!

I have been on my liquid diet since April 1st. It seem like the first 3 days were hard for me but im breezing right through it now. Surgery is April 12th. My diet consists of 2-3 Protein Shakes. sugar free Jello, pudding, some cream soup(nothing chunky) and sugar free popsicles. Some of you are luck, you still get to eat whole foods, but the good thing about this diet, after surgery the liquid diet you will be on then, wont be so hard. Best wishes to all the April Bansters!!

I started my 2 wk fasting diet today also. Yep. It's kicking my a** but I want the results so badly. I've also heard that once you get past day 3 you can kind of make it.

I'm a single, retiree who works PT. I have a little too much time on my hands. I walked for 15 minutes today but was puffing a little when I got back. I plan to increase it a little at a time.

just keep at it rrr! I am on day 6 and i was able to eat a cup of lettuce, a Protein Drink and couldn't even finish a yogurt.. i was full! my stomach is finally getting used to the little amounts of food. wait... you have to fast for 2 weeks? how does that work ? or is it just a liquid diet?

This is full liquid. Yogurt, pro drinks, creamy Soups, Instant Breakfast. You get the picture. This is day three. I woke up with a headache but I made a protein drink hoping that would stop it. I don't know if it was my imagination or mourning for my gluttonous appetite. Anyway the headache has subsided. I went outside around the block. It took me 5 minutes. I was strolling. I was panting a little. The sun was up and it was a little warm. I'll have to get up earlier. Monday I was able to do 15 minutes.

Thanks for your encouragement.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
