I was hungry on the clear liquids after a few days, too! It's probably a good sign, it could mean you're less inflamed, and it definitely means your body is on the mend. Once you go to full liquids, and it's not long now, it'll be A LOT better. They're very filling! Especially warm ones. So hang in there, you're almost there!

I was hungry that early as well. You just have to pull through this stage. It will be rewarding in the end. good luck with your journey welldoneclap.gif

I know where your coming from. The problem is you are detoxing too (in a sense) You have to get use to being hungry until you can really drink some good Protein Shakes which help kill hunger. I have a post up for Muscle Milk Light. Just look around and it's there $5.99 a Jug (THAT"S DAMN CHEAP !) If you want some help with the drinks. Go to ebay and pick some up.25 of Protein, and only 195 Calories. It's good stuff too. That's were I buy my supplies from, and I'm sticking to it. I been on Muscle Milk for 5 yrs... So it's not a flash in the pan.

Here's good advice, the rest is up to you.

Shirley.

Hello, I'm sorry you are having trouble, I have been banded for a few years so I'm not sure if I should tell you to drink this or not, but I will anyway and you can choose for yourself what to do. My band is always too tight or too loose. So right now it is tight and the only things I can comfortably eat are cream Soups and slim fast. Slim fast will give you a full feeling. I can't see why it would hurt. Just take slips. I think it would help your hunger. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
