I take pills every day and also PM products to sleep at night. Are you able to swallow the pills. I know some cannot be broken because of the time release effect of the meds. Do you take a daily Vitamin in pill form?

My doctor said I can swallow pills as long as I don't take a whole handful at once. Some docs say not to swallow anything larger than a regular size aspirin tablet. I'm still too chicken to try, but I have no choice now because I have a sinus infection and I have to get antibiotics...yay. As for Vitamins, I take a chewable brand called Vitaband that isn't too bad.

@Jenn1214, if you ask your doc there is actually a liquid (powder) Antibotic (its made by the same people that make Z Pak) but it is a powder you add to Water. Its pretty nasty tasting but works really well and you dont have to worry about getting stuck.

@cat, yes my doc says no pill larger than the size of a pencil eraser. We just crush anything larger we have to take. Anything time released you need to speak to your doc see if there is a liquid or chewable form. Yes we take a multi but it is a Gummy.< /p>

Good luck!!

Some you can split or crush. The other ones you will have to see what he wants to do. Liquid form, make a temporary change whatever. I take pills in the morning so yeagh you can take them whole in the long run.

All of us Bariatric patients from Henry Fords take FLINTSTONES COMPLETE with CHOLINE in it Orange box. They are very good Vitamins, help keep you peppy. They are chewable.< /p>

I've always been able to swallow capsules. pills.. I don't like and try to avoid.

I use chewable Centrum multi's and my surgeon is fine with those. He doesn't like us taking flintstones, says they aren't enough for adults. I'm not going to get into a Vitamin war, just stating my surgeon's opinion (and my pcp's opinion too aamof). YMMV with your surgeon/pcp.

I DO find it helpful to take my morning doses with hot tea or coffee. Afternoon and evening go down fine with Water. Again, ymmv.

I'm not going to get in a war over Vitamins either.

Flintstones with CHOLINE are not the same as Flintstone chewables.< /p>

Google choline and see what you get..

It helps keep the Fat of the LIVER, we all need that. Yes it is chewable, but there is a big difference.

Choline is a water-soluble essential nutrient.[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] It is usually grouped within the B-complex vitamins. Choline generally refers to the various quaternary ammonium salts containing the N,N,N-trimethylethanolammonium cation.

The cation appears in the head groups of phosphatidylcholine and sphingomyelin, two classes of phospholipid that are abundant in cell membranes. It also becomes the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

My surgeon says to not take handfuls of pills. I take pills up to the size of a regular Multivitamin coated tablet. Rarely, they go down a bit sideways. A stuck pill is no fun at all.

A lot depends on how tight your band is.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
